Titles read: “MAKE-UP AND GET WELL“. Various locations of events. Four nurses, Marjory Turner, Jean Harris, Anita Scannell and Veronica Brown, enter a beauty parlour in Bond Street, London, and are greeted by director Eleanor Macdonald. We then see various shots of the nurses receiving instruction in giving beauty treatments. Commentator explains that Miss Macdonald has been maintaining for years that beauty treatment could play a big part in bringing women hospital patients back to health. C/U of a woman’s fingernails being painted. The nurses watch beauticians working on models and applying makeup. Miss Macdonald uses a blackboard diagram to explain how to apply eye makeup. At Goodmayes Mental Hospital in Essex we see nurses walking about the grounds. Inside one of the wards, women patients are taken by nurses to a special beauty parlour.
