Empyre - Hit And Run (taken from the album Relentless)

’Hit and Run’ by Empyre, from the album ’Relentless’ coming March 31, available to pre-order on CD, Vinyl and Digital here: ’Hit and Run’ is about returning to somewhere you once knew well, picturing it as if had been frozen in time, then the realisation comes that whilst the place still provokes powerful memories so much has changed over the years that there isn’t much to relate to there anymore. Specifically it’s about Henrik returning to Denmark and a town he lived in called Sønderborg. It’s quite a sad song, but the band felt the sentiment behind it really lent itself to a warm, slightly dreamy, 80s vibe, and that may well be something they want to build on in the future Hit and Run I don’t know what’s around me There’s nothing that means that much here, anymore It’s fallen through the cracks, of a broken floor Once this place used to know me And I called it home, but no more ‘Cos it’s fallen through the cracks, of a broken floor There’s no turning back it’s just a hit and run No, there’s no turning back No, there’s no going home It’s just a hit and run Time just steals shattered memories That I can’t recall anymore They’ve fallen through the cracks, of a broken floor Parts of me becoming distant Are they even true ‘Cos I barely missed them, fading from my view There’s no turning back it’s just a hit and run No, there’s no turning back No, there’s no going home It’s just a hit and run Cinematography: Derek Lau Video Editing: Henrik Steenholdt #rockmusic #empyre #band Follow Empyre: Facebook: Twitter: Instagram: Youtube: Spotify: Kscope:
