Lubov Timofeyeva plays Haydn Complete Piano Sonatas

Lubov Timofeyeva recorded these piano sonatas between 1977-82. Although not well known, she has over the past fifty years played in a way which distinguishes her from other pianists. Her performances–from Haydn to Prokofiev–tend to sound very expressive, intuitive and free. Her piano tone is rich and sophisticated, and quite often her interpretations have a markedly spontaneous style, particularly when heard live. I hope these Haydn recordings will engender more of the recognition she deserves. The sonatas are ordered according to Robbins Landon’s method, with the Hoboken numbers attached.
