INWARD

Deep and rich colors, gold and ornaments, patterns and female outlines are exquisitely applied to the wooden panels. Along with the filigree embroidery, flowing threads and mysterious color combinations they compose the Inward art project by Asya Dobrovolski. Inward project is a space that allows one to realize inconscient boundaries of inner discomfort inherent with many of us and revealed in contact with something unfamiliar and unknown. Woman and their position in society, in religious context of the world where cultures, values, traditions and beliefs are mixing more and more become the ambassadors of the philosophy of many countries and at the same time the most vivid, recognizable visual representation of such philosophy for the most parts of the planet. In the Inward project outlines of the traditional Muslim women’s clothing of different nations act as a tool to examine similarities that prevail over external differences and universal values beyond cultural identity.
