GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Flyers () | Crosby Scores 500th Goal

The Pittsburgh Penguins returned home to take on their cross-state rival Philadelphia Flyers at PPG Paints Arena. Claude Giroux would get the Flyers on the board first but Dominik Simon answered right back for the Penguins to tie things up at 1. Moments later, Pittsburgh would take the lead as Sidney Crosby netted the 500th goal of his career and his 50th against the Flyers. Crosby is the 46th player in NHL history to reach 500 goals and joins Mario Lemieux as the only other Penguin to accomplish the feat. Philadelphia netted three goals in the second period to take a 4-2 lead into the third. The Penguins battled back in the final period of play, getting back-to-back goals from Jake Guentzel and Chad Ruhwedel to force overtime. Kris Letang would seal it for Pittsburgh in the overtime period, giving them their fourth straight victory by a score of 5-4.
