Story line: “ Once, under rather strange circumstances, I happened to spend the night in a log cabin in the middle of a dense winter forest. This was back in 1968. Then I, being a young and adventurous student, went on a solo winter hike. To be more precise, I was not completely alone, my faithful friend, Buddy the dog, was with me. I always took it with me when I went somewhere. He also loved to travel with me. My hike was designed for two days, it ran along a mountain route along a river, as well as through a forest area. Having thoroughly prepared, having collected all the necessary things, I threw the heavy backpack over my shoulders and Buddy and I hit the road. We got to the beginning of our route, to the Zimnyaya railway station, by train, and then walked. I thought out each of our stops, routes, and places to stay overnight in advance. We planned to sleep in a tent, but the bad weather made adjustments to our plan. Light snowfall eventually turned into a strong winter blizzard. This complicated our hike, and we did not have time to get to our overnight stay before sunset. I decided to pitch my tent a little earlier than planned because Buddy and I urgently needed a shelter where we could shelter from a strong snow storm. After walking a little more, I stopped, threw my backpack onto the snow-covered ground, and began setting up the tent. At this time, Buddy began to bark, as if he wanted to tell me something very important. And so it was. When I asked him what happened, he took me aside as if he wanted to show me something. Following Buddy a few dozen feet, behind the fluffy spruce trees, I saw a log winter cabin. The hut had small wooden windows and smoke was coming from the chimney. This indicated that someone was living in it. At first I felt scared and quickly walked back to the tent. But a minute later Buddy persistently called me to that hut again. I didn’t know why he was dragging me there, but this time I decided to listen to him, and again went to the house, and then knocked on the door. “ To be continued...
