How I Paint Things ft. The Army Painter - Napoleonic British

The Redcoat. Synonymous with British infantry across more than a century, from the American War of Independence through the Napoleonic period, right up until phasing them out during the Mahdist revolt. I’ve actually had a cold the last couple of days while trying to record this, so it’s me that’s broken and not the mic, unfortunately! With just a few block colours over a suitable primer, the famous redcoat of the Napoleonic period can be painted in very little time at all. Using white means our other colours remain bright and sharp, even after they’ve been dipped, and it makes touching up any mistakes on the cross belts very simple. This is a slightly different style to how I’d ordinarily paint, but it was suggested to me to try ’painting like an oil portrait’ on a miniature and I think the slightly blotchier, broader areas of highlighting work pretty well over the dipped basecoats&#
