Making A Siberian Yakut Knife -- Part 1

In this short series I’ll be building a Siberian Yakut knife with very basic materials. Literally a blade, wood and some epoxy. The Yakut knife is a traditional Siberian design that is unique in design. It incorporates a convex grind on one side & a flat/ hollow grind on the other. Much like Japanese chisels. This design allows the blade to be very thin yet strong & rigid at the same time. It also makes for ease of sharpening since it is only sharpened on the flat side of the blade. Check out the rest of the series: Part 2: Part 3: Part 4: The blade is made by Anton Check out my blog for extra content. Also feel free to show off projects or ask questions on my Facebook page.
