Aladdin: Arabian Nights

Video: © Kendelia Videos. Disney’s Broadway musical Aladdin began playing at the Sands Theatre in Marina Bay Sands Singapore on 21 July and it will run till 1 September 2019. Singapore is the first and only Asian stop for this musical production by Disney Theatrical Productions. This video is a snippet of the “Arabian Nights” performance where the Genie takes centre stage. At the beginning of this video, one can also catch sight of Aladdin (played by Graeme Isaako), Jasmine (Shubshri Kandiah) and even the Sultan (Darren Yap). Gareth Jacobs plays the Genie in this musical that is based on the 1992 Academy award-winning animated movie, Aladdin, by Walt Disney Animation. Aladdin is a folktale and is part of The Thousand and One Nights, also known as The Arabian Nights. Other well-known stories from The Thousand and One Nights include Sinbad the Sailor and Ali Baba.
