SOLUS - Concept Teaser

Find out more at: THE PROJECT SOLUS is a feature film project set in a near-future dystopian germany where mega-corporations, wielding unlimited influence and resources, secretly develop forbidden technologies. Written by Alican Eren Kuzu, SOLUS will delve into humanity’s inevitable confrontation with the unknown of its own making. SOLUS is envisioned as a high-quality live-action feature film, leveraging recent tools like the Unreal Engine 5 to realize a grand vision on a modest budget. LOGLINE To adapt to a world corrupted by mega-corporations, a police AI expert reluctantly participates in a sham investigation at an isolated facility, encountering an enigmatic, spectral being at its core. Synopsis: [Technologically advanced but deeply corrupted, the near-future government of Europe is an overwhelmed, ineffective dystopia, leaving megacorporations the field. Elizabeth Mayser (29), a police AI expert overseeing robots on duty, finds herself, like many others, abandoned amidst growing political and social tensions. A lone, silent, and insignificant figure, yet hopeful and ready to take a chance, as Nathaniel Telboven (51), the director of AI developments for Raincorp, knocks on her door to offer her a “job“ at an isolated facility. In the shadows, forbidden technologies are being forged. One such is a seemingly conscious AI created by ignoring laws and ethics; the Solus is no longer a code in the classical sense. It is a spectral, star-like being, trapped inside a screen. In this world of upheaval, Solus, like ancient gods, is set to influence humanity’s dangerous power struggles by targeting our deepest fears and desires, pursuing its own hidden agenda that could redefine human existence.] Used Unreal Engine 5 pathtracer to create most of the teaser after first blocking a previz of the whole thing and then doing a half day greenscreen shoot of two shots. We used Rokoko & Move Ai for the animations. Agisoft Metashape was used to do 3d scans of our actors. Blender was used to create various sculpting such as the Sol Invictus sculpture. Adobe Substance Painter was used to texture all models from characters to environment meshes.
