Drum Majors Mace over the Banner competition during 2022 Dufftown Highland Games in Moray Scotland

Drum Majors Derek Dean, Fraser Dyer and Ronnie Rennie take part in the Drum Majors’ Mace over the banner competition during the 2022 Dufftown Highland Games in Moray, Scotland on Saturday 30th July 2022. The Drum Majors are watched by the Chieftain of the Games, Alex Grant, and the band playing are Huntly & District Pipe Band. The annual Mace over the banner challenge for Drum Majors involves throwing the Mace over the banner AND catching it again. This was a win for Derek Dean with three clear throws and catches, but all competing Drum Majors receive a bottle of Whisky. Moray, Speyside is Malt Whisky Country after all.
