Dr Circus Comes To Town (1931)

(Main Pathetone titles.) Full titles read: “Dr. Circus comes to town. And many a dull eye glistens in the Hospital grounds when the clowns frisk and frolic.“ Location of events unknown - could be United States of America. Various shots show a clown starting up a car in the grounds of a hospital. Hundreds of patients sit around watching and laughing. A jet of water shoots out of the car, then a loud explosion makes the clown jump and the audience laugh. Two clowns in long flat boxing gloves have a slapstick (literally!) fight; they hug each other at the end. Two of the clowns approach the audience with a box labelled ’Hair Grower’; they get a boy up from the audience and get him to put his head in the box while one of the clowns turns a handle furiously. They take the box away to show a huge fright wig of frizzy hair on the boy’s head - it looks very funny! FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
