Need For Speed Most Wanted RTX Remix Remake WIP #3

Bit more progress made. I think the thing I got most feedback on in the last video was about the dark shadows. So couple of things. 1) I messed with eye adaptation settings which made things too dark. That bit should be fixed. 2) (With a work around) an option for subsurface scattering has just been added. With SSS, light can kinda now pass through leaves and they won’t be as dark. As you can tell from the video, it’s still quite dark. Partly due to my poor attempt at getting SSS to work, but that doesn’t change the low quality assets used for the trees/leaves/branches. My two real options are 1)create 3d assets to replace the branches and leaves. 2)Create higher asset pngs textures to replace the branches and leaves. I think it’s obvious which one would yield better results, but I know basically nothing about creating anything in 3d. I don’t think they’d be particularly hard to model, but it’s still something I’d need to learn and would probably take some time. Then I need to figure out how to even get them into remix to show up in the game lol. I mentioned in the last video I’d work with some displacement maps and I have. Unfortunately they really aren’t noticeable able unless you stop and look lol. Next video I’ll try to show off a different location. I’m kinda just playing through the story while I work on the game so that’s where these races are coming from lol. I’ve got a 100% save file I used to run around the map to gather textures but other than that I haven’t spent much time outside of this area. thanks to AdamPlayer for his anti culling fix: download rtx remix here: rtx remix discord:
