Senior Design: Ladder Climbing Cart

For a senior design project, four UCF BSME students were contracted to design and build a method of getting 300 pounds of A/C compressor equipment to the top of an 18 ft roof. The method needed to be able to be quickly, easily, and repeatably accomplished by the single A/C mechanic; it had to fit into or onto the mechanic’s van; and it could not attach to or harm the building/surroundings. A cart was designed, built, and tested that would “drive“ the supplies up the rails of a ladder, using a remote contro
