Final Fantasy VIII | The Secret of Obel Lake

Obel Lake is just north of Timber. Stand by the edge in the centre of it and examine the water to bring a ’shadow’ to the surface. Talk to it and you’ll be sent in search of ’Mr. Monkey’ who is located in the forest near Dollet. With this complete, return to the lake and speak with the shadow again. Now onto the next part of the quest, finding clues to locations for various treasures around the world. Below are the clues I found: “At the beach in Balamb, something washes ashore at times.“ With this clue, you need to make your way to the beach near Balamb and check for a stone with clue ’STSLRM’. “Take some time off at Eldbeak Peninsula.“ With this clue, make your way northeast to the Peninsula and check the area for another stone with the next clue ’TRETIMEASUREATMINOFFDEISLE’. This one is separate from the rest of the clues in this quest as it is the location of a treasure. The shadow will tell you to remove TIME and OFF from the letters, thus making TREASURE AT MINDE ISLE. It’s a small island south of
