We are sad to learn of the on-duty death of a deputy from the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office this afternoon, the second police officer to be killed this week in Michigan. Our hearts are heavy as we keep the deputy, their family, loved ones, and colleagues in our thoughts. A Hillsdale County deputy is dead and the man who allegedly shot him was later killed in a shootout with police after a manhunt, police said.
