❤️❤️➕🏏 So I committed myself for the 60th to embark on a slightly bonkers project of recreating every theme for the TV show. And I think I’ve just about managed it? First in the series is Peter Howell’s take first used in 1980, and perhaps as recognisably iconic as Delia Derbyshire’s original take. Howell committed something like 5-6 weeks to it and everything available at the BBC and is probably one of the most faithful official recreations but given an 80s twist. With the joys of modern technology, many of the synths he used now exist as software, the bulk of which I’ve used for this mix. I never thought I’d be able to manage this and I feel like I got 85% of the way there? I have cheated a bit - I didn’t give myself enough time to figure out the effects so those are samples.
