A WEEKEND WITH THE FABULOUS LIGHTNING MCQUEEN PRO MOD

At the 2022 Doorslammers Competition at Santa Pod Raceway I tried to spend some time with John Tebenham and the crew of The Fabulous Lightning McQueen Pro Mod. A 521ci 53 Corvette capable of running the 1/4 mile in @ 238mph. In-between filming on the track, I managed a few visits to the pits and fire up lane to watch them prepare the car. In the draw on Saturday night, John was drawn against the no1 Qualifier Jan Ericsson for his first round race, and was unfortunately knocked out. I would have loved to have filmed a few more runs, but thats racing. John still ran a superb time of @ 232mph. Hopefully we see him back out at next years event and going a few rounds more.
