This behavior puts him in trouble when he goes to investigate Mr. McGregor’s garden despite his mother’s warnings against it. Mr. McGregor chases him with a rack and Peter runs back home frightened and barely alive. His mother puts him to bed with a chamomile tree while his siblings enjoy eating blackberries with milk.
