Russian Army Parade, Victory Day 2009 Парад Победы

This is the parade on Moscow’s Red Square devoted to the 64th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, 9 May 2009. This parade would mark the return to 20 wide columns for the parading units, something not seen since the Soviet era. This parade would also see some other major changes, such as the removal of the Suvorov and Nakhimov Schools, and the Moscow Military Musicians School was replaced by the Military Drummers University. Taking the salute is Defense Minister of the Russian Federation, Anatoly Serdyukov. Commanding the parade is Commander of the Moscow Military District, Colonel General Valery Gerasimov. Music performed by the Combined Orchestra of the Moscow Garrison conducted by Major General Valery Khalilov. Like me on Facebook:
