Jurgen Menzel was granted fellow status by the San Diego cactus and succulent society and was well known for his vast knowledge and expertise in the field of cacti & succulents. I never had the pleasure of meeting Jurgen but feel like we are kindred souls in some sense as I have been able to get a sense of his dedication and passion for these bizarre desert plants.
