Follow ► The inspiration behind this video: The Spot’s backstory makes him a standout character in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The fact that he appeared as a background character during Miles Morales’ first adventure as Spider-Man is an effective reminder that many villains used to be regular people with no evil intentions until an unfortunate event led them down the wrong path. But apart from that, the Spot’s origin reveal also goes in line with the Spider-Verse’s attention to detail, which was already displayed in Olivia Octavius’ villain reveal in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, where her octangular eyeglasses, lights, and accessories hinted at her villain identity before she whipped out her tentacles. It seems Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will focus on the climactic battle between Gwen Stacy’s Spider-Team and Miguel O’Hara’s Spider-Society simultaneously with Miles Morales’ fight against his multiversal self and a final stand against the Spot. However, there could be other secondary villains who could make the third movie more exciting. The Spider-Verse movies have balanced several simultaneous antagonists seamlessly and turned a C-list “villain of the week“ into a multiversal-level threat.
