Alcest - Souvenirs d’un Autre Monde - Group Cover

Alcest is one of my biggest influences as a musician ever since I found their Myspace page in 2007 and heard their first album, Souvenirs d’un Autre Monde. I’m lucky enough to have seen them three times, the last of which gave me the opportunity to meet Neige. My second surgery for brain cancer was originally scheduled for 2/7/2018, but I had it postponed because Alcest had a headlining set the same day and there was NO WAY I could miss what could have been my last time experiencing their music live. For this collaboration cover of Souvenirs d’un Autre Monde, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Brycen Whittington on drums and Josh Cummings on bass. I made some minor changes to the leads and made them a little more shoegaze-y, and I included the bass lead that the band usually plays in live sets but is not in the album recording. The non-drum footage was shot in Big Bear Lake, California in August of 2020. I had no idea that I was posting this video so close to the debut of the album
