Lake Michigan (1914-1918)

Lake Michigan near Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. Opens with shot of lake’s waves pounding against a narrow pier/ wall. Then shot looking down shore line; some large houses; the lake rough; splashing up on shore. North shore or Rogers Park? Finally a shot of a road (Sheridan Road?) along the lake; with a couple of old cars driving around curve and up road. Street lamps with round tops (Wilmette; IL still has these in 1990s. - could be there or another north shore or north side location). Then shots taken from ship moving across the ice-covered lake, breaking up ice floes as we go along. We head towards a refinery or industrial centre. Wooden ships frozen in the lake. Smoking chimneys from the industrial area. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
