SERBAN NYCHIFOR: CARNYX

Carnyx is an ancient instrument built for armies to scare off enemies with it’s powerful sound. it was held upwards over the head and the corpus of an instrument had a shape of a dragon’s head. All this moments (the battle, the power, the sound) is smartly combined by composer in this great piece. It is marked to be played on a bass clarinet or clarinet.
