Ozone Baby. Led Zeppelin. Bass cover.

Led Zeppelin (originally named the New Yardbirds), were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. With a heavy, guitar-driven sound, they are cited as one of the progenitors of hard rock and heavy metal, although their style drew from a variety of influences, including blues and folk music. Led Zeppelin have been credited as significantly impacting the nature of the music industry, particularly in the development of album-oriented rock and stadium rock. In 2003, Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list included Led Zeppelin at number 29, Led Zeppelin IV at number 66, Physical Graffiti at number 70, Led Zeppelin II at number 75, and Houses of the Holy at number 149. And in 2004, on their 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list, Rolling Stone included “Stairway to Heaven“ at number 31, “Whole Lotta Love“ at number 75, “Kashmir“ at number 140, “Black Dog“ at number 294, “Heartbreaker“ at number 320, and “Ramble On“ at number 433. I will leave it at that for these famous guys, too much to say. From ’Coda’, their first compilation album. The album is a collection of unused tracks from various sessions during Led Zeppelin’s twelve-year career. It was released on November 19th, 1982, almost two years after the group had officially disbanded following the death of drummer John Bonham. The word coda, meaning a passage that ends a musical piece following the main body, was therefore chosen as the title. Guitarist Jimmy Page explained that part of the reasoning for the album’s release related to the popularity of unofficial Led Zeppelin recordings which continued to be circulated by fans: “Coda was released, basically, because there was so much bootleg stuff out. We thought, “Well, if there’s that much interest, then we may as well put the rest of our studio stuff out“. As John Paul Jones recalled: “They were good tracks. A lot of it was recorded around the time punk was really happening... basically there wasn’t a lot of Zeppelin tracks that didn’t go out. We used everything.“ Someone wrote; ’Another telling sign of Zeppelin’s character: How many drummers do most bands go through? Next to the bass, the drummer is usually the most-rotated spot. Not Zeppelin! Lose the drummer, and that’s it, the band calls it quits - but to be fair, growing tensions within the band could have broken them up anyway’. “Ozone Baby“ was an ’In Through the Out Door’ outtake, 1978. I won’t suggest I have this down entirely as the busy recording is difficult to isolate. The gist. As well it’s Zeppelin and you know there is a lot going on in the background. And of course a bit of distortion on the last notes but I have spent enough energy on this one (darnit). Jimmy page interview; And June, 1963;
