The Illogic of Transport in London 🤦🏽‍♂️

Where is the incentive to do the ’right thing’ by using public transport, rather than driving a ’polluting’ car, when it ends up taking longer and costing more - way more - to do so? Going to Wallington by tube, train and bus took over two hours due to strike action and cost over £20. If I had taken my non-ULEZ car, and even cut through London into the ULEZ zone, it would have been quicker, easier (less walking between stations and stops) and cheaper - £ and a bit of petrol. Rather than penalising people for using their cars, shouldn’t the system be encouraging us to use public transport?
