The Danish thrashers really outdid themselves on this record with soaring vocals and rhythmically complex guitar riffs. The exotic influence heard right off the bat with the sitar intro to “7:00 From Tashkent“. Almost every track is in harmonic minor or phrygian dominant modes and they all have insanely good riffs. It’s too bad that the production quality did not match the musicianship displayed on this record. Now, with it’s new shiny mastering, the exotic sound of this record is truly allowed to shine. The original master had a lot of mid-range. Something that usually would stick out when you first listen to it but surprisingly didn’t sound too bad. The original wasn’t horrible or as un-listenable as other records I have done, but the amount I was able to improve it was HUGE. The bass worked out amazingly and the guitars really filled in on the side-chain once I was done equalizing the hell out of it. This record was recorded very well, it just wasn’t mixed or equalized as best as it could have been. But all these problems have been fixed and I hope you enjoy this remaster as much as I do!
