In this Blues in E violin tutorial I show 20 licks, using a variety of blues feels- a rock rhythm, medium shuffle, slow shuffle and country blues. If you want to know how to play violin blues, this will certainly get you started! Some of the licks use major blues scales, and some use minor blues scales. Many of the blues licks are hemiolas- three beat phrases repeated in 4/4 time. If you would like a free pdf of the music used in this blues violin lesson, subscribe and send me an email. There are plenty more similar blues fiddle videos on The Fiddle Channel.
