Farm Automation (1957)

Frostenden, Suffolk. M/S of a man driving a tractor through a field filmed from the machine on the back, M/S of the machine which is a green crop loader for harvesting peas, the camera moves up to show the vines disappearing over the conveyor belt, M/S of the crop loader as it drives on. L/S of the tractor and the loader in the field, there are three men on the back. M/S of the men with pitchforks sorting through the vines. Various shots of the crop loader driving round the field and the men on the back. L/S of the tractor driving a cart full of vines and coming to a stop. The narrator says this is one of several vining stations which are set up within a mile or two of a group of pea fields. Once they have been shelled they are taken and frozen. M/S as the tractor driver jumps out with a pitchfork which he sticks in the ground. He picks up a ladder and puts it up against the side of the cart. M/S as he climbs up the ladder with the pitchfork. L/S of men unloading the cart and shovelling them on
