Daniel Levy: ’It is crucial to not wrap oneself in a unique cloak of victimhood.’

Daniel Levy, president of the US/Middle East project and a former Israeli negotiator of the Oslo Accords, spoke about the absence of Jewish leadership and their abandonment of the Jewish ethic of a universal message of “never again”. He further elaborated on the concept that if you cannot acknowledge the pain and suffering of someone else, it places you in a dangerous place. Levy talked about coming from “a traumatised people”, and how it is crucial to not instrumentalise and wrap oneself in a unique cloak of victimhood. Levy spoke at a panel discussion hosted by the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP), titled “War in Gaza: What’s next for Palestine?” on Monday 30 October 2023 in London.
