WELCOME TO SEASON 2! This episode of our vlog series is about what the inside of Shanidar Cave looks like! Shanidar Cave is a fascinating historical sight that has brought forth great evidence about Neanderthals and their social abilities, most notably in the burial of their dead. Ralph Solecki was the first to excavate this amazing location in the 1950s and 1960s. Shanidar Cave is a one of a kind place on Earth and we are lucky to live so close to a site that from what is buried inside of it has unlocked secrets about an extinct human cousin, the Neanderthal, that we formerly knew little of.
