On July 13 this year, netizens said that the current traffic flow of the HZM Bridge is only 500 vehicles per day. This is far below the daily traffic volume of 15,350 to 22,300 as estimated in the feasibility study report. The HZM Bridge feasibility study report was finished by the state-owned enterprise CIECC in 2008. The report stated that at the early stage of the bridge’s opening, the traffic flow was estimated to be 9,200-14,000 vehicles per day; by 2020, it will increase to an average of 15,350 to 22,300 per day.
