Random Remasters: Testing of 1997 Toyota Corolla WRC

This time on Random Remasters we have the testing of Toyota’s 1997 Corolla Rally Car. This car was full of technological advancements when it came out and it kind of showed in the results of 1997, car being unreliable thanks to many different teething problems. However in 1998 the car was really competitive, being in contention for both championships until the last day of the last rally, losing out to Tommi Mäkinen and the Mitsubishi respectively. However in the following season the team would win the constructor’s championship, giving the team a nice send off to their future Formula 1 campaign. This car was easy to drive and competitive in the hands of many drivers. Notable drivers who had good races in this car include: Carlos Sainz, Didier Auriol, Marcus Grönholm, Freddy Loix and Markko Märtin.
