Elvis Presley - Can’t Help Falling In Love - 12 Aug 1970 MS, Complete & re-edited with Stereo audio

The closing song to the movie Elvis - That’s The Way It Is is often regarded as being Can’t Help Falling In Love, taken from the climax to Elvis’ legendary 12 August 1970 midnight show but that is actually far from being the whole story. The original 1970 version of the movie contained footage from that rendition only for the first minute and seven seconds with the remainder being a rear shot filmed during the 14 August midnight show after main production filming had ended although the audio used throughout was from the 12 August midnight show. The version used in the 2001 re-edited version of the movie however, was quite different, using footage from five different shows in the two minutes and seventeen second that it was on screen. From the beginning of the song this version was broken down thus with audio split between the 11 and 12 August midnight shows where applicable: - 12 August midnight show; - audience shot; - 11 August midnight show; - 12 August midnight Show; - 14 August midnight show; - 12 August midnight show; - 14 August midnight show; - 11 August midnight show; - 14 August midnight show; - 11 August midnight show; - montage from 10 Aug OS, 11 Aug DS, 11 Aug MS, 12 Aug DS, 12 Aug MS and 14 Aug MS. To make a complete version using footage from only the 12 August midnight show it was necessary to use material from both versions of TTWII and from The Complete Works. In order to use the best footage possible the HD Bluray footage was used , then the original 1970 movie footage and fooatge from the complete works where no other footage was available. As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!
