Paris Taxis Aka Taxis Of The Marne (1914)

The Marne, France. On the Western Front we see a Paris taxi being driven through a forest. It stops and several French army officers get out and chat. One of the men pays the taxi driver who is also in uniform. WPA record informs us that during the Battle of the Marne (September 1914) reserves were sent out from Paris in taxicabs, called The Taxis of the Marne. The idea came from General Gallini, military governor of Paris. Modified WPA record. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. E
