Hi! Today, the restoration of Laz-Bichak, it is also known as the Black Sea scimitar or Laz Knife. Weapons from Lasistan. Lazistan is a historical region of Georgia inhabited by the Laz people. The condition of the item is average, severe rust, the handle is incorrect. I will restore everything now! First of all, I dismantled the old “handle“ and put the sword in a rust remover. After cleaning, I neutralized the effect of the acid, took it out and started cleaning the fullers. After that, I began to clean the surface of the sword with the help of ordinary natural remedies. After mixing, I got a paste with which I cleaned and polished the surface slightly. I used horns, leather, threads and brass rivets with wire for the handle of the Laz Bichak. I used the glue that our ancestors used. The scabbard for the yatagan was made of wood, glued with thin natural leather. The suspension is made of leather as well. The scabbard has a classic look.
