Explore Slab City: The Ultimate Video Documentary

Ultimate Video Documentary Explore Slab City Slab City, also known as The Slabs, is an unincorporated, off-the-grid community in the Sonoran Desert, California. It’s located in the Salton Trough area of Imperial County. Slab City is known as “The Last Free Place in America“ because it’s home to people who have removed themselves from society. The name comes from the concrete slabs that were left behind by the Marine Corps when they abandoned the Camp Dunlap base in 1956. Slab City is generally very hot and dry with summer temperatures reaching as high as 120 °F (48 °C). To get water, people can drive into Niland to fill up their water tanks for free at a gas station, or they can get it from the “Water Man,” an entrepreneur who sells city water. If you drive, drive very slowly because there are many dogs running around the Slabs. You can walk the Slabs, but it’s best not to do so at night. This is a collection of all my Slab City Videos i took. I hope you enjoy this V
