Introversion is looked down upon in our society. I have always been told by my peers, teachers, and parents to be more social and outgoing since society equates extroversion with success. People in society do not see the benefits of being an introvert. Research shows that introverts are creative and curious critical thinkers. Despite this, extroverts are still favored. It’s time to realize the value in being an introvert. A grade 11 student at Bur Oak Secondary School in Markham, Ontario who dreams of setting foot on all seven continents.
