Ellie Plays AND Sings House Of The Rising Sun (The Animals) - The Last Of Us Guitar + Ashley Johnson

How I made this: I learned how to play this on piano, recorded a performance into a MIDI file, then wrote some PS4 controller hacking code to convert the MIDI file into button presses (see more about hardware below). I then downloaded Ashley Johnson’s cover of House Of The Rising Sun and used an online AI tool to separate vocals from instruments. I wrote the guitar music based on The Animals’ rendition, implementing the motifs while maintaining the similar spirit of Ashley’s original performance and while also staying within the constraints of the in-game instrument. Switching timing from 4/4 to 6/8 resulted in a natural bit of added energy due to increased rhythmic density. The section that starts @2:22 Has one note that goes outside of the 2.5 octave range of the in-game instrument. By enabling Helium Audio in the game, I can reach 6 notes higher. To aid in making it sound a bit better, I applied some EQ, removed some stereo imagining, and added reverb. Hear Ashley'
