EU nations defy bloc’s diktat on Kyiv; Hungary, Poland ban Ukrainian grain imports

There is a fresh revolt within the European Union over ’unlimited’ support for Ukraine. Two EU nations have imposed bans on Ukrainian grain imports amid an ongoing war with Russia. Poland and Hungary have announced bans on grain and other food imports from Ukraine to ’protect’ their own local agricultural sectors. Poland, which lectures the world, including India, on supporting Ukraine during the war, has now chosen its national interest over the pro-Kyiv campaign. Meanwhile, EU nation Romania too is seeing a massive farmers stir against the bloc’s decision. However, the EU has issued a warning to its members against any anti-Ukraine measure in the current circumstances.
