Animals feeling betrayed

From the moment these animals were born, they were fed by humans. Granted, on most farms, intense confinement is the norm and their lives have very little joy or excitement. And yet, a certain level of trust remains between the animals and those who give them food and control every aspect of their lives. As so happens with dogs who are neglected, and continue to trust their human caregivers despite living a very sad life. But what happens to all of these trusting animals, who are also killed and slaughtered? When they realize that the ones who fed them, also sent them to the scariest and most violent place on earth, or are about to kill them themselves? Not some unknown predator lurking in the bush, not some accident, not an injury. Your very own source of food, a face you’ve known since birth, was actually your worst enemy, and you had no idea... Power and intelligence mean nothing if they are not coupled with good intentions. We can be the smartest, most powerful creatures that ever existed, but if we use this to harm others, we have nothing to be proud of.
