At the 2010 Stars of the White Nights festival, Willard White is making his Mariinsky Theatre debut, performing Bartok’s opera Duke Bluebeard’s Castle with Elena Zhidkova. But St Petersburg audiences first saw White in December last year, when the singer took part in a performance of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde and Berlioz’ La Damnation de Faust at the Concert Hall and delighted the public with a recital ranging from bel canto arias to American 20th century classics.
