Kevin Costner’s Wife Hit with $14K Fine for Dodging Prenup Questions

Christine Baumgartner, the estranged wife of actor Kevin Costner, has been ordered to pay a $14,000 sanction for failing to provide a sufficient explanation as to why she believes their prenuptial agreement should be invalidated. The fashion designer filed for divorce from Costner in May 2023, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the breakup. However, she also challenged the validity of their prenup, which was signed before their wedding in 2004. According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Baumgartner claimed that the prenup was “unconscionable” and that she signed it under “duress and undue influence” from Costner. She also alleged that Costner breached his fiduciary duty to her by failing to disclose his assets and liabilities at the time of signing the agreement. However, she did not provide any evidence or details to support her claims, despite being ordered by the court to do so by August 15.
