I’ve loved Connie Converse since I stumbled across her music a couple years ago -- particularly the collection of songs that this tune is on: How Sad, How Lovely. She was an odd duck, which is partly what I love about her. She wrote all these beautiful songs and then just disappeared one day in 1974 in her Volkswagen Beetle, never to be heard from again. No one knows what happened to her after that, but I hope she had a good life and wrote more songs that will one day be discovered somewhere.
