Dresden Blue - Death Valley Fire Rope Dart -

As promised, a slightly more serious dunetop firedance from New Years Day, featuring the stunning landscape of Death Valley. This was shot over a single spontaneous burn by @sterling_fire, who stomped up and down steep dunes to get all these beautiful angles. I cropped slightly in a few places to match the lovely song, “Falling Fleeting“ by Chances End. (Check out their music if you haven’t already!) I’m laughing a little bit as I watch this again, as internally I was chanting the whole time, “don’t fall off the dune, don’t fall off the dune!“ For folks who haven’t tried firedancing on steep sand dunes before, staying stable while moving is quite the work out! Consequently, the technical aspects of the rope dart are not as richly nuanced as when I’m dancing on my (much more flat) dance floor, but it was still an immense pleasure to welcome in the new year with some cardio.
