EXPLAINED: Record Russian Troop Losses, ’Executions’ and a Kremlin in Denial

Russian personnel losses are so high and morale is so low that soldiers are being executed for not following orders, according to the White House. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, said on Thursday that as well as individual cases of capital punishment, entire units were being threatened with execution if they retreat from Ukrainian artillery fire.
