Atmospheric Free Electric Energy, Hot Air Balloons, John Wise, World’s First Air Mail, Jet Stream

Today we will discuss what the current narrative says about John Wise, the balloonist, scientist, and engineer from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He is attributed to discovering many things including the modern parachute. He is also said to have discovered the “Jet Stream”, which led to modernization of high elevation travel. I think the most interesting “invention” the current narrative tip toes around when discussing John Wise is his idea of “balloons” to harness free electricity from the atmosphere. Today we will talk about an excerpt from his self-written book from 1870, in which he discusses at length his invention with the secretary director of the Smithsonian.
