Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit | Guitar and Bass Cover |

Covering Nevermind’s iconic opening track, the classic Smells Like Teen Spirit. Using my 1993 Fender Mustang that was repainted in the style of Kurt Cobain’s 1969 Fender Competition Mustang that he used in the Smells Like Teen Spirit music video. My mustang is modded just like Kurt’s with Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge position. Also using an Electro-Harmonix Small Clone chorus pedal. For bass, I am using my Ibanez Black Eagle 40th Anniversary reissue. Krist Novoselic used a Ibanez Black Eagle throughout Nirvana’s entire career, especially in the Bleach era. Both were recorded with my Avid Eleven Rack. I am making presets for each song’s clean and distorted tones for both the guitar and bass, trying to match the album tones as close as I can. Recorded with the actual album multi-tracks in Pro Tools. Follow me on instagram at @ithoeric for Nirvana gear related content Check out my progressive punk band at Check out my acoustic project at
