Long & Triple Jump Warm Up Progressions

This video gives a wide selection of Walking and Running drills that focus on creating the correct movement patterns for Horizontal Jumps (Long & Triple). Coach John Shepherd (UK) takes a number of Irish athletes through the progressions and explains the techniques involved and rationale behind every technique. There is a big focus on running technique / posture maintenance / the cycling action of the legs. Its a necessary function of any jumper to run correctly before channeling all the forces of the run-up into the take-off. The videos were filmed in Athlone (Ireland) in December 2019.
